All of our hunts are conducted in the Helena National Forest with our base camp residing in the Scapegoat Wilderness. If flying into Montana we suggest coming into the Missoula International airport and we have an airport package available if you don't want to worry about renting a vehicle or booking a hotel. Lincoln, MTis the closest town to the trailhead, If you are arriving early and would like to stay right in the town of Lincoln we would suggest staying at the 3 bears hotel the night before your first day with us. If you would like more of the Montana experience we suggest staying at theMontana Mountain View Ranch in their modern bunkhouse. A short drive of 15 miles from Lincoln will get you to the trailhead where we will meet up on the first day of your wilderness adventure. A ride of 6 miles (2 hours) on horseback will get you into our main camp.
We offer two wilderness spot and stalk spring bear hunts. The first hunt running from June 1st to June 7th and the second hunt running from June 9th to June 15th. The weather is usually beautiful and a spring bear hunt can be a great reason to get into the mountains after a long winter.
Our elk and deer hunts are conducted essentially in the same manner and you can encounter both animals in the same terrain. Our archery hunts start the first Saturday in September and continue through the third weekend in October. Our rifle hunts overlap archery with unit 280 being one of the few areas in the state that offers an early rifle season starting September 15th.
Our cast and blast trips are for the clients that would like to take advantage of our amazing fishing opportunities and get the full wilderness experience. Since you will only be spending half as many days in the field hunting, we reduced the price of this trip by $750 to help offset the cost of your non resident hunting license fees.
